Upon investigation we open te fuse box to find the shower cable had totaly melted insde the box and had actually started to badly burn the plastic casing. possibly cause by an overload or most likely a loose neutral terminal inside the box. A regular inspection of the elctics may have been able to identify the issue prior to the actual power tuning off.Remember to always use a qualified electrician for any work around your property to minimise any future issues ..

What a few months it has been for electrician4you. We have been inundated with house rewire quotations from clients all over the northwest and we are great full for every phone call/ email that we received. Our latest rewire has been completed today in Haydock. This was a fully lived in property , semi detached 3 bedroom house. that we was able to complete in 2 days for our client with minimal disruption. We are not sure what is happening at the moment out there in the world but at the moment we seem to be getting inundated with house rewire quote requests. Within a 7 day period we have had 14 enquiries for full house rewires so far. We can only assume that people have decided this year to renovate a lot of there homes instead of moving houses. Obviously we are made up with every enquiry that we receive regardless how small or large of a job. However it puts us a in predicament do we push hard and keep ploughing through the house rewire works as well as our others work at high speeds or do we relax a little and take on a new lad and look to expand even more. Wow what a week it has been at the start of 2022, for your trusted local electrical company electrician4you. We have had this house rewire planned since before Christmas but unfortunately we just could not arrange a start date due to being so busy. This was a large 4 bedroom house rewire in Lowton with a predicted 4 day turn around due to it having so many items in it. We was not able to start it until the Wednesday of the week due to the clients work schedule. So we had to make a choice and decide to either put 2 teams from electrician4you on the house rewire and hope for a weekday finish, or go with the usual one team and carry it over into the Saturday. Electrician4you have been run off our feet this week as the run up to christmas approaches. We have been installing ansel led panel lights over the last couple of weekends to an office block in St Helens. They were awarded a St Helens council energy efficiency grant to improve their electrical lighting by installing a more energy efficient light fittings, saving energy and money at the same time. This was great project for our teams at electrican4you and we really enjoyed completing it. What a difference these lights have made, more crisp , clean , brighter looks to the offices with no flicker for the sensitive computer users. We installed 136 new led panel lights , 26 emergency lights and 26 microwave sensors for the walk ways and stairwells so that the lights can never be left on for no reason again. Another project signed off and completed this weekend by your trusted local electrician in St Helens . This is the second St helens council energy efficency grant project that we have completed this month, the other has been a beauty shop es-paradis beauty salon in earlestown, once again improving there work place lighting greatly. Well its been another long weeked for your trusted local electrician from newton le willows. We have been installing ansell led panel lights and ansell emergency lights to an office block in st helens. 112 led panel lights and 30 ansell emergency bulk heads. The new lights have made a massive difference to the look of the rooms, totally brightening them up with cool white 4k lighting. An added bonus is the energy saving that the office is now making for the lower wattage and more efficient lighting.

We were called up today by a lady wanting a house rewire in Leigh quoting for, Upon arrival it appears the couple have only just moved into the property and have had an eicr inspection last week, this is the main reason that they were desperate for a house rewire. As it turns out the property is a 1970s typical install, pvc copper cables with cpc with a new fuse board replacement needed and main earth cables upgrading etc. It seem that when the eicr had been carried out the report stated a long list of c1 issues so the couple was extremely concerned and was wanting the house rewire in Leigh completing immediately. Now we did not carry out an inspection so obviously would not go against the local electricians report but from what we could see there was no c1 in the property. Now for certain the house was unsatisfactory but it just shows not all electricians actually understand the coding system of an eicr report .So now the customers mind has been put at ease and we can now work on the rewire in due course now that the couple understand the certificate more clearly.Moral of the story is always check your local electricians credentials before any work are carried out. whether it is an eice report , a house rewire or a fuse board replacement.

Fuse Board Replacement In St Helens...

Today we have carried out another fuse board replacement in St Helens this week. Not a lot out of the ordinary with this one jut a simple fuse box replacement due to having no rcd protection on there old fuse board. Also we have upgraded the main water and gas earth cables to 10mm as per todays regulations. We carry out many fuse board replacements in St Helens and surrounding areas for various reasons, ie house improvements, new kitchen electrics etc. This fuse board replacement in St Helens today was actually because our client was due to have an electric vehicle charge point added and the current fuse board was not updated enough so it was flagged up on the pre survey. we are also qualified in electric vehicle charges and we are seeing this issue with the fuse boards more and more nowadays as the electric cars keep rolling in. One thing we did notice today though, even though the house tested electrically sound and all was good it was really noticeable as to how soft the copper was in the cables compared to todays cables, it was roughly a 1970s installation.

we have no more fuse board replacements left this week but we do have a weekend of office lighting ahead of us swapping the old tube box lighting for energy efficient led panels. 190 units to be fitted. Its going to be a long few weeks but its great to be busy i guess.

Another fuse board replacement in newton le willows coming up.

We had an enquiry yesterday simply for an extra socket to be wired for a tv media wall in newton le willows. On arriving at he property all seemed great meeting the client and discussing what was needed until we actually did our initial visual inspection prior to quoting for the works.. Straight away we can see an issue, the fuse board is an old bs 30303 without rcd protection. We have explained to the client about the rcd issues and what they are for and they are happy for us to do a fuse board replacement in newton le willows next week when the work is to be completed. The moral of the story is if you have regular electrical check on your properties it allows you to keep up to date with issues such as fuse board replacements , making your homes a lot more electrically safe and you get to spread the costs over a period rather than all at once..

Electrician4you have been working today in lowton carrying out electrical work in a clients garden.6mm 3 core armoured cable fed from a 32 amp breaker on the db1 fuse board roughly 10 meters ran to a New "Fusebox" fuse board installed into the shed to control the shed sockets and lights (being led battens) also a control switch for the pond sockets. All wired around the garden in 3 core 2.5mm armoured cable. This garden will look amazing once its finished with multiple water features and a pond. Our greatest relief was that the weather held out for us being sunny all day. Another job signed off and another happy cusomer roll on tomorrow when we are tackling spot lights and a new fuse board in st helens in another clients house.

This Fuse Board Was Installed 3 months ago in 2021??

This customer was looking for "a local electrician near me " and came across electrician4you on google. After we carried out a recent eicr inspection in Astley the client stated that he just wanted an electrical certificate for the building inspector , hence a condition report as the original installer had " disappeared". upon on arrival we could see it was a 17th edition fuse board, not the end of the world on its own merits. However on further inspection and hidden behind a strategically placed piece of wood we discovered the state of the electrics. apart from the obvious in the picture there was faulty rcd units, over sized breakers for the cables, mains tails wrapped to the gas pipe for support, No grommets on the metal board that has sliced the mains 25mm live tail exposing the copper amongst along list of issues. Needless to say the test was an unsatisfactory and a week later electrician4you have been back out and removed the defects and replaced with a new fusebox rcbo fuse board. Much neater and electrically safer. Please stop installing electrics like this better still please stop all together there must be something that your good at else where, Leave it to the professionals.

Another house rewire in Warrington has been completed again this week. Its been a challenging one but we did it without issues. Kevin and his sons Nathon and Ethan have worked hard on this house rewire. Another one certificated and signed off ready for the next job tomorrow. Its always a pleasure when the customer comes home after yo have completed the house rewire and comment about how clean the house has been left . A happy customer is an happy electrician. Roll on tomorrow when we are heading back to Warrington for another fuse board replacement and 1st fix wiring on an extension.
